KELSEY HOLLIS NAMED 2016 MISS GEORGIA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN DURING THE FINAL NIGHT OF COMPETITION AT THE 72nd ANNUAL MISS GEORGIA PAGEANT

The 72nd Annual Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen competition concluded tonight at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia.  Forty-nine women from across the state have been competing for academic scholarship and the title of 2016 Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen. Contestants have competed in preliminary competitions of Interview, Lifestyle and Fitness, Talent, and Evening Wear leading up to tonight’s final competition.

 

The night began with the naming of the top fifteen for Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen.  They were: Miss Houston County’s Outstanding Teen, Kelsey Hollis; Miss Rome’s Outstanding Teen, Sophie Marie Edwards;  Miss Flint River’s Outstanding Teen, Gabrielle D’Alesandro;  Miss Lake Lanier’s Outstanding Teen, Rayven Bailey; Miss Golden Isles’ Outstanding Teen, Karrington Wilkes; Miss Columbus Outstanding Teen, Maloreigh Todd; Miss Atlanta’s Outstanding Teen, Sabrina Elson;  Miss Apple Capital’s Outstanding Teen, Kendall Chamberlin;  Miss Starr’s Mills’ Outstanding Teen, Caroline Poole; Miss Macon’s Outstanding Teen, Annie Swan; Miss Cobb County’s Outstanding Teen, Carley Vogel; Miss Southeast Georgia’s Outstanding Teen, Alaylla Watkins; Miss Kennesaw’s Outstanding Teen, Megan Lawless; Miss Capital City’s Outstanding Teen, Yuri-Grace Ohashi; and Miss Warner Robbins’ Outstanding Teen, Grace Thomas.

The top fifteen then competed in Evening Wear before the field was narrowed to the top ten semi-finalists.  The semi-finalists were: Miss Capital City's Outstanding Teen, Yuri-Grace Ohashi; Miss Cobb County's Outstanding Teen, Carley Vogel; Miss Starr's Mill's Outstanding Teen, Caroline Poole; Miss Southeast Georgia's Outstanding Teen, Alaylla Watkins; Miss Macon's Outstanding Teen, Annie Swan; Miss Lake Lanier's Outstanding Teen, Raven Bailey; Miss Atlanta's Outstanding Teen, Sabrina Elson; Miss Warner Robin's Outstanding Teen, Grace Thomas; Miss Golden Isle's Outstanding Teen, Carrington Wilkes; and Miss Houston County's Outstanding Teen, Kelsey Hollis.  These contestants competed in Lifestyle and Fitness and Talent competitions before announcing the top five finalists.  Miss Houston County’s Outstanding Teen, Kelsey Hollis, was then selected as the 2016 Miss Georgia’s Outstanding Teen, receiving $2500 in scholarship awards, and the opportunity to compete in the 2016 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition starting on August 2, 2016, in Orlando, Florida

 

Also receiving scholarship awards were first runner-up, Starr’s Mill’s Outstanding Teen, Caroline Poole ($1500); second runner-up, Miss Capital City’s Outstanding Teen, Yuri-Grace Ohashi ($1000); third runner-up, Miss Macon’s Outstanding Teen, Annie Swan ($750); fourth runner-up, Miss Atlanta’s Outstanding Teen, Sabrina Elson ($500). The remaining semi-finalists received a $350 scholarship and the remaining top fifteen received a $250 scholarship.
